Only the adults in my family know of our travel abroad. The teen and the youngest have no idea about it. That’s the reason they continue to bug me with many requests. Well, it’s not an issue for me given I have extra money left. But, I’m really in a tight situation now, I just can’t tell them directly.

Just yesterday, Marco asked me to buy him xbox hard drive. He wanted to have extra storage for his games. He is a game enthusiast for about five years now. This hard drive will expand his xbox gaming experience. But, other than xbox games he can also use it in storing downloadable content from internet, movies and television shows from Xbox LIVE Marketplace. He can also save his game progress, and your Xbox LIVE gamer profile, game demos, game videos, and original soundtracks from your own music collection, play original and retro games in Xbox LIVE Arcade. Well, it’s quite helpful for him.

Unfortunately, he’ll have to wait for few more time before he could lay a hand on this device; that if he wants me to buy it for him. Even if I found a good deal, I still need to save for it.

I’m spending almost half of my day talking to my friends in Facebook. Well, I seldom see them online because of work. Since its holiday and raining, I guess no one wants to go out. But, it’s a good thing because I miss them a lot. After sometime, I got tired and realize I have piles of task to finish. Lucky for me, I’m not yet beating deadlines.

Anyway, before I shut down my eyes, I need to check several antennas for tv. My old folk asked me to buy one for the house. The tv not connected to the cable can’t access good channels without antenna. Good thing hubby gave me permission to do so. Besides it’s my parents request so he is obliged to do so. Oh well, I hope to get good discount for this since I don’t have much on my wallet.

difficult to watch him in the kitchen

Occasionally, hubby takes charge of the kitchen, which is a very good attribute for a man. But, I don’t like him to be in that place and do some cooking. Though, seeing him washing dishes is bearable because he knows how to handle it and seldom break things. But, if cooking is the topic it’s another story.

Actually, he does have good taste buds as he can produce nice tasting food. But, I’m not too fond of the mess he makes around the kitchen. It makes my chores a lot heavier as compared to him not doing any cooking. Other than that he keeps on forgetting to cool down the cookware first before placing them in the sink.

Even though we have a good quality sink and sienna sinks stainless steel sinks are at wholesale prices, it is still best to take proper care to our current sink. I have a bad experience over putting too hot cookware in the sink before. That’s why I’m avoiding that to happen as much as possible.

nasty wires end up mess

As time goes by, the wires we are using inside the house increases. It is due to the increasing number of utility subscriptions such as internet, cable and a lot more. Those subscriptions aren’t part of the house plan that’s why they are not installed hidden the walls. The nasty wires end up messing the floors and walls; which one of the things I hate to see.

I already told hubby to find a way to lessen their visibility. They aren’t just visible, they also get in the way of my cleaning. Time passed, yet he hadn’t done anything. In fairness to him, he is really a busy person so I can’t be mad at him. Fortunately, I found some wire management tools in the web. I’m not an expert on this area, though I’m willing to learn, so it might take me forever to find what I’m looking for. Still, it would be better if my guy could give time for this one.

I’m too unfortunate for breaking my nails after opening a defective cabinet pulls yesterday. I really need to open the said cabinet that day. So, I tried everything I can, which is successful. But, it costs my new chipped nail polish. Good thing I did not hurt myself from that.

The incident is my go signal to purchase new cabinet hardware. Hubby said I should not bother since we will be leaving after three months’ time. But, I’m using that particular cabinet often because it’s where I keep most of our stocks and supplies. It’s the only assigned place for us to use. Leaving it that way would mean more and more chipped polished nails for the time being.

I can’t let that happen again. Besides going to have my manicure done is much costly as compared to changing the cabinet pulls. Even if hubby won’t agree, I will buy the item and change it myself.

I have been planning to buy a new tv stand for our television. Actually, we already have one before, but it was a total wreck after it was transported to my parents’ house. Something happen in the transfer, which makes the tv stand useless. Dad constructed a wall mount stand, but it’s not too pleasing to the eye.

The truth is, I like good stuff and seeing a low quality item in our little home is such a sad thing. That’s why I feel it’s better to invest in a high quality item as it increases the beauty of our home. It also creates a more welcoming look for us. So, even if we can use the wall mount dad constructed, I still feel the need to purchase one.

Veggies must be blanched before freezing to help set the color and kill enzymes that cause spoilage. Before blanching, wash veggies well, taking care with types with compact heads. While preparing them, bring large pot of water to boil over high heat – 1 gallon of water for each pound of veggies. Place veggies in wire basket, insert basket in kettle, and cover.

Begin timing as soon as water starts to boil again. When time is up, immediately transfer the basket to a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking; leave veggies in ice water a few minutes, then drain and pack. Blanching water can be reused.

How long to blanch:

Asparagus: 3 minutes
Split Broccoli: 3 to 4 minutes
Green beans: 2 minutes
Carrots (sliced): 3 minutes
Cauliflower: 3 minutes
Corn: 3 minutes
Green peas: 2 minutes
Spinach: 2 minutes
Summer squash (cut 1/2″ slices): 3 minutes
Winter squash: 5 to 6 minutes
