According to a new investigation, it would now appear that the body’s internal clock is directly responsible for this ability that we have. It has direct control over a water-storing hormone that regulates our need to intake or dispose of liquids. The direct mechanism that allows for this to happen was evidenced by neurophysiologists Eric Trudel and Charles Bourque, in a scientific paper they published in the latest issue of the respected scientific journal Nature Neuroscience. The two, who are based at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center, in Montreal, Canada, propose that the hormone vasopressin is directly responsible for storing water during the night,
They argue that the circadian rhythm, or the body’s internal clock, allows for certain types of water-sensing cells in the body to activate other cells that produce vasopressin, when an individual is sleeping. They argue that the hormone essentially instructs the body to store water and not parade it around, as it does while the person is awake, and able to find water for drinking.

Sleep usually comes in cycles consisting of five stages: stages 1 and 2, stages 3 and 4, and the REM (rapid eye movement) stage. During sleep, a person goes through about five to six cycles.
Stages 1 through 4 are non-REM stages. A combination of REM and non-REM sleep partly determines the quality of sleep you get.
Non-REM sleep ranges from very shallow (stages 1 and 2) to very deep (stages 3 to 4). Stages 3 and 4 envelop you in baby-like sleep; when you wake up during this stage, you feel very rested and relaxed.
With REM, the dreaming stage, your brain is active while your entire body is “paralyzed.” That is a protective mechanism: you don’t want to be dreaming about jumping off a building roof top and your body exactly doing that.
Markedly in adults, sleep quantity may stay the same, but sleep quality changes. As we age, stages 3 and 4 decline and the time we spend awake in bed gets longer. Other factors that may affect sleep quality are snoring and sleep apnea, medical conditions that need the attention of a doctor.

When we talk about beauty from a different angle, we tend to have our own criteria for judging the beauty of a woman. We look the beauty of a lady from a certain angle and then pass the remarks whether she is beautiful or not. It’s not fair. Let me tell every woman that she is unique and beautiful.
Beauty business is thriving everywhere. Women are spending much of their time and money on buying beauty products. Even in the third world countries, women living below the poverty line, buy cheap and substandard beauty products, which give more harm to their skin than good.
It’s the fundamental right of every woman to look beautiful. Every woman wants to listen the sweet words “you are beautiful”. But the beauty of a woman is far from her looks or figure. Physical beauty is only one aspect while a beautiful charming personality is a complete blend of many fine characteristics such as good manners, etiquette, behavior, smile, intelligence, sense of humor, social and family values etc., all make a woman look beautiful and attractive.

Blind People Dream – People who become blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion. It is hard for a seeing person to imagine, but the body’s need for sleep is so strong that it is able to handle virtually all physical situations to make it happen.
You Forget 90% of your Dreams – Within 5 minutes of waking, half of your dream if forgotten. Within 10, 90% is gone. The famous poet, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, woke one morning having had a fantastic dream (likely opium induced) – he put pen to paper and began to describe his “vision in a dream” in what has become one of English’s most famous poems: Kubla Khan. Part way through (54 lines in fact) he was interrupted by a “Person from Porlock“. Coleridge returned to his poem but could not remember the rest of his dream. The poem was never completed.
Everybody Dreams – Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological disorder) but men and women have different dreams and different physical reactions. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women tend to dream equally about men and women. In addition, both men and women experience sexually related physical reactions to their dreams regardless of whether the dream is sexual in nature; males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow.

It has been know that acupuncture is one of the oldest medical techniques in the world, practiced in China for over 2,000 years. It is a FDA-approved treatment modality for a number of illnesses, especially pain management and particularly effective in treating migraines. This treatment involves stimulating over 800 vital energy points in the human body with fine, hair-thin needles to release chi and encourage the body to heal itself.
Basically, chi (pronounced chee) or life energy flows through these meridians and energy points. The obstruction of the flow of chi leads to illness and is considered the source of many bodily aches and pains. The flow of chi along the meridians can be obstructed by illness, poor diet, the weather, and other outside factors. Most acupuncture practitioners work with patients to form a treatment plan that addresses both the blockages themselves and the things that cause them. These treatment plans often include diet and lifestyle changes to enhance the patients’ well-being. Read the rest of this entry »

It is often been told that if we want undeniable quality, we must not make any compromises even if that means paying more than we could afford on a single beauty product. In fact there is a new study by UK consumer that reveals this precisely the one thing on which the cosmetics industry relies, since most costly anti-wrinkle creams on the market are outperformed by budget versions in terms of visible and lasting results.
Well, it’s not just Hollywood stars who want to look younger, we all do, but it’s unlikely that spending a fortune on the latest miracle product will get rid of wrinkles. Study shows that anti-wrinkle eye creams have limited success, whatever they cost. So, while more costly products have more luxurious ingredients and come in a better and more appealing package, they offer little in return for their ridiculously high price tags. Owww! This is a serious blow to the cosmetics industry especially the study included some of the most popular products and brands now available on the market.
Study showed that the simple kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser face cream worth just $5 outperformed the most expensive product tested, the StriVectin–SD, which costs $76. Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum, $27, the “miracle” anti-wrinkle cream that literally flew off the shelves after it was reviewed and proclaimed “scientifically proven” to eliminate wrinkles, came in second, falling in the “Moderate Wrinkle Reduction” category. Even more surprisingly, the much-hyped pharmacy brand RoC Retin-Ox Intensive Eye Cream ($33) came in last, being the only product of the 12 tested to fall in the “Least Effective” category, despite the positive media it had garnered since release.
